The breed is also known as Anglo-Nubian, as it was developed in England in the late 19th century by crossing African and Middle Eastern goats with British goats.

Nubian goats are a large and sturdy breed with a distinctive appearance. They have long, drooping ears that hang down to their shoulders, a roman nose, and a stocky build. They come in a wide range of colors and patterns.

In addition to their distinctive appearance, Nubian goats are also known for their excellent milk production. Their milk is high in butterfat and protein, making it ideal for making cheese and other dairy products. Nubians produce a milk much closer to cows milk with a milder taste, popular among people who dislike the stronger taste of the Nigerian dwarf milk. Nubian goats are also popular for their friendly and sociable personalities, making them a favorite among goat enthusiasts.

Today, Nubian goats can be found all over the world, with many breeders and enthusiasts in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. They are often kept as pets, used for milk production, and entered in shows and competitions. Despite their worldwide popularity, Nubian goats remain remembered for their unique origins and continue to be appreciated for their personality and beauty.
